Mo Versi, HTC’s product management chief, has revealed on Twitter that several carrier-locked HTC One M8 and M9 models will be receiving an upgrade to Android Marshmallow in the coming weeks. The first carrier models of the popular smartphones to get Android 6.0 will be the ones on Sasktel, Rogers, Wind and Videotron in Canada.
Great news for our Sasktel, Rogers, Wind and Videotron HTC One M9 owners! We’ll go live on Monday for the Marshmallow OS update. Thank you!

If you’re in the U.S. and have an M8 or M9, you’re in luck. When asked when the Sprint HTC One M8 would be getting the update, Mo Versi commented that HTC is planning to release the update next week while the T-Mobile HTC One M9 release is scheduled for January 25. We don’t have any indication as to when the Verizon or AT&T HTC One M9s or One M8s will be updated, but it shouldn’t be too long now.
Do you have an HTC One M9 or M8 and have received the Marshmallow update? Let us know this week!
