We’re all used to seeing supposed leaks from different sources around the web regarding smartphones, but when the upcoming device’s own manufacturer starts doing it, the fun gets taken away and things start spiraling out of control.
That’s exactly what happened this week with the Galaxy Note 9. Over on Samsung’s website, the company put the device up for pre-order well before they could even unveil it to the world. Soon after, the device’s official reveal video made its way to the web which confirms the phone will ship with 512GB of storage and come with compatibility for a microSD card up to 512GB of space, giving users, effectively, 1TB of storage to work with.
Basically, whoever’s in charge of Samsung’s promotional marketing for the Galaxy Note 9 should be consulted at some point.
The leaks don’t stop there, however. Thanks to a Russian retailer (via SamMobile), we now know exactly what the Note 9 will come with spec-wise. It’ll ship with a 6.4-inch display, a Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, a 4,000mAh battery, an improved S Pen, a USB-C port, a headphone jack, dual 12MP cameras, and a fingerprint scanner.
All in all, there isn’t very much to discuss before Samsung’s event on August 9th. We practically know everything there is to know about the Note 9 thanks to these leaks, so the company will have had to hold back a surprise or two to truly shock us next week. Otherwise, we’ll probably be able to predict the company’s every move come Thursday.
