There’s a new iPhone scam going around today that is received via text message. It states that your Apple ID is about to expire and that you need to enter your credentials in order to avoid the termination. Here’s a Twitter user who got the fake message which included his name and may come off legit to some people:

As you can see, according to the URL listed in the tweet (which by the way is completely bogus and shouldn’t be tapped/clicked unless you want to be potentially hacked/stolen from), it’s possible that this scam is more directed towards the UK. However, beware of it anyway no matter where you are just for the sake of security.
Apple warns users about these types of scams on their website in case one were to show up:
“As a general rule, never send credit card information, account passwords, or extensive personal information in an email unless you verify that the recipient is who they claim to be. Many companies have policies that state they will never solicit such information from customers by email.”
For reference, Apple will never ask for information like this (especially via text message), so don’t think for a second that this isn’t a scammer and is just Apple asking for your personal information they already have.
Oh, and your Apple ID can’t expire no matter what you do. Just sayin’…
