Today, Asus unveiled its newest flagship phone, the ZenFone 6. The device managed to not leak a ton of times before its release, and it even surprised a few people with its design.

That’s because the ZenFone 6 has what Asus calls a Flip Camera system. Essentially, this means the device’s rear cameras can flip to the front of the phone in order for you to take a selfie. This solves the notch problem with the screen which has no cutouts or large bezels surrounding it. It’s an alternative to the pop–up selfie camera we’ve seen on phones like the OnePlus 7 Pro and it’s certainly more flashy than a solid-state selfie shooter. You also get better quality selfies since the cameras weigh in at 48MP and 13MP, the latter of which opting for a wide-angle lens.
Under the hood, Asus includes a Snapdragon 855, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of storage with the ZenFone 6. You also get Android 9 Pie out of the box with a promised upgrade to Android Q. In addition, a microSD card slot, a 5,000mAh battery, 18W fast charging over USB-C, and a dedicated Google Assistant button are all assigned to the phone.
Oh, and hey, there’s also a headphone jack. Fun!
The ZenFone 6 launches today in Europe for €499, or around $560 USD. Asus says the phone will land in the US at some point, but we’re not sure when.
