After their initial unveiling just over a week ago, Apple today officially launched its new iPhone XS and XS Max for the world to buy. The new Apple Watch Series 4 is also launching today. All three devices are available from Apple.com and select retailers and carriers.
The iPhone XS starts at $999 with 64GB of storage. A step up in price gets you 256GB of storage for $1,149. There’s also a pretty massive 512GB option for $1,349. For the bigger iPhone XS Max, you’ll need to pay at least $1,099 for the 64GB option. There’s also a 256GB tier for $1,249 and a 512GB variant for a whopping $1,449. All six of these rates are pretty high for a smartphone so you’ll really have to want one of these devices in order to justify your buying decision.
For those of you wondering, the iPhone XS and XS Max come with 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED displays, A12 7nm processors, dual 12MP cameras, iOS 12, stereo speakers, all-glass enclosures, and three color variations.
Meanwhile, the new Apple Watch Series 4 starts at $399 for GPS connectivity and $499 for a model with LTE. It comes in two new sizes: 40mm and 44mm. All of your old bands will work with the new model. It also comes with up to a 30 percent larger screen that stretches from edge to edge, the new S4 dual-core processor, more haptic feedback, fall detection, ECG support with FDA approval, watchOS 5, new watch faces, Bluetooth 5.0, louder speakers, and better microphone pick-up.
