Apple may have just announced a suite of new MacBooks through press releases last month, but that doesn’t mean the company is finished with its laptop line for 2019. We’ve heard rumblings of a potential 16-inch MacBook Pro arriving by the end of the year, and it looks like we now know when it could arrive.
According to IHS Markit analyst Jeff Lin via Forbes, Apple will unveil its rumored 16-inch MacBook Pro this September. The device will come with an LCD screen with a resolution of 3072×1920. It’ll also come with an upgraded CPU.
September is a bit of a weird month for Apple to announce a new MacBook. Typically, the company sticks with an October time frame for any sort of major announcement in the Mac world, but it’s possible the company doesn’t have enough new products to dedicate an entirely separate event from the September iPhone launch to. Lin does note the company may also refresh the MacBook Air and 13-inch Pro models with new CPUs, but those can be shown off in one slide onstage during an Apple event.
We still have to get through summer and back-to-school season before we’ll know anything for sure so stay tuned.
