Up until now, the only way to buy a Hermès band was to buy an Apple Watch that came with one, however that’s all about to change. Apple announced today that their partnership with Hermès is growing, with the company soon to be offering bands from the designer accessory makers as standalone products. This means that, for example, if you bought an Apple Watch Sport, you’ll be able to purchase a Hermès band for it.
Starting April 19th, Apple will begin selling Hermès Double Tour, Single Tour and Cuff bands in fauve brown, feu red, blanc white, bleu paon green and blue saphir blue shades. According to A Blog to Watch, the prices for the bands will be as follows: $340 for Single Tour, $490 for Double Tour, and $690 for the Cuff. However, don’t expect the prices for these accessories to be the same in both 38mm and 42mm sizes. Some colors and styles will only be made for the 42mm, while some will be exclusive to 38mm Watches, and, obviously, the bigger bands will cost more.
These new bands will certainly be welcomed by Hermès fans, especially to Hermès fans who already have an Apple Watch. By selling these bands individually, Apple will be able to not solely focus on selling the Apple Watch Hermès collection but more on the standalone accessories that special model comes with. It’s a smart move for both consumers and the Cupertino company.
