Apple TV 4 Now Receiving Update to tvOS 10

Following the release of both iOS 10 and watchOS 3, Apple has begun seeding Apple TV 4 owners with the next software upgrade for the hardware titeld tvOS 4. This update has been through seven different beta builds which were released over the course of three months. If you were a beta tester of tvOS 10, you received the first official public build of the software six days ago when Apple began rolling out the GM seed of the upgrade. The rest of the public has had to wait until now to receive the updated OS on our Apple TVs.

Feature wise, tvOS 10 will grant the Apple TV 4 with updates to Siri including YouTube video search, a new dark mode, Single Sign-On for pay-TV applications, support for entering text via your iPhone, an updated Photos app to correspond with iOS 10’s, improvements to Siri, a redesigned Music app, and much more. New additions within the betas of tvOS 10 included the redesigned Music app, tweaks to Siri, and bug fixes.

To install tvOS 10 on your Apple TV, head over to Settings > System > Software Updates > Update Software on your Apple TV and download the updated OS. Note that only the Apple TV fourth generation will receive the update, while those of you on the second and third-gen TVs will be stuck with what you already have.
