Apple Rolls Out iTunes 12.4.1 w/ Bug Fixes

Apple has begun rolling out iTunes 12.4.1 to both Mac and Windows users. This comes just a few weeks after iTunes 12.4 made its debut with its interface tweaks and Apple Music improvements and a day after a major outage affected most of iCloud’s services, including the iTunes Store and Apple Music. This update isn’t intended to fix that outage, however, as Apple has reported that all their services are back up and running, but separate bugs affecting things like music playback are being addressed.

Here’s the full release notes for iTunes 12.4.1:

This update addresses a number of problems where iTunes doesn’t work as expected with VoiceOver. It also restores the option to Reset Plays and fixes the following issues:

  • Up Next may have unexpectedly played songs added together in the incorrect order
  • iTunes was prevented from crossfading between songs

If you’re on a Mac, you can download iTunes 12.4.1 through the “Updates” tab in the App Store. If you’re on a Windows machine, you’ll need to open Apple Software Update and check for updates. This should, in turn, allow you to install the new software on your PC.
