After releasing iOS 13, tvOS 13, iPadOS, and watchOS 6, Apple is finally ready to start rolling out macOS Catalina to the public beginning today. The software is now rolling out to all supported Macs from 2012 and on. Essentially, if your Mac is able to run Mojave, it should get the Catalina update soon.
Features

macOS Catalina has a pretty decent list of new features that will be brought to compatible Mac laptops and desktops. Here’s a rundown of some of the most anticipated.
- New Music, TV, and Podcasts apps (goodbye iTunes!)
- iPad app support thanks to Project Catalyst
- Sidecar: allowing you to use an iPad as a secondary monitor for your MacBook
- All-new Photos app w/ better editing tools
- Updated versions of Notes and Safari
- Screen Time metrics
- All-new Reminders app
- Better privacy features
- All-new Find My app
- Sign In with Apple log-in method
- Voice Control
How to Install

The new software can be installed by heading over to the System Preferences section of the Settings app. From there, hit “Software Update” and you should spot the upgrade ready to be download. Hit download and wait for it to finish installing. You’ll want to plug in your MacBook before installing the update to ensure you don’t run out of juice. Otherwise, sit back and be patient.
