A new report by Macotakara has surfaced which claims that due to the success of the Jet Black model, Apple may release a Jet White variant of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus so those who aren’t a fan of darker-shaded smartphones can get in on all the glossy action. The post this publication wrote up is only a few lines long and says at the end that “this information may be unreliable,” so take this with a grain of salt.
Since the Jet Black iPhone 7 was so popular, I could totally see a Jet White model make it to market. Of course, you need to factor in Apple’s history of color upgrades since they’re not really known for releasing new colors after a device has already launched, but anything’s possible. One scenario that would make sense to some extent is to boost initial sales of the 7 and 7 Plus by offering possible customers a sixth option (yes, sixth) to choose from they may really like. However, the release of a Jet White 7 may also upset earlier buyers since they may want one of these models rather their current one. Trade-ins are always possible, but who wants to go through that?
Nevertheless, if we don’t see a Jet White iPhone 7 this year, we may see a Jet White option pop up for next year’s iPhone 8 (or whatever Apple decides to call it). Yes, this is the only report we’ve seen so far claiming this information while Macotakara‘s sources aren’t that reputable, but there’s always hope.
Would you buy a Jet White iPhone 7 or 7 Plus?
