The rumors were true, folks. After unveiling the new operating system and giving the first beta to developers, it’s been discovered that Apple’s new iPadOS supports mice. Multiple developers, including Steve Troughton-Smith on Twitter, discovered the feature as an accessibility option which lets you connect either a USB or Bluetooth mouse to your iPad and use it like you would on a Mac or PC. The cursor looks like a large touch target.
Apple wants the iPad to replace your laptop. But without proper mouse support, the tablet has failed to achieve this feat. Now that the feature’s there (even for those running iOS 13 on an iPhone), it’ll be interesting to see whether the experience gets any better for those who want to transition from a traditional laptop to an iPad.
