Android Nougat Now Rolling Out to Unlocked HTC 10

Good news for anyone with an unlocked HTC 10: via a tweet last evening (likely while you were still discussing politics over pumpkin pie with Uncle Arnie), HTC announced that they officially passed TA (technical acceptance) testing for Android Nougat and have begun rolling the update out to unlocked users of the company’s 2016 flagship, the 10. This comes the same week as the Moto Z/Force and Sprint LG G5 each receive Nougat as well.

Currently, there’s no word on when carrier-locked HTC 10s will receive Nougat, however it shouldn’t be too long before these users see Android 7.0 pop up on their device. In addition, it’s not clear as to when other regions will receive the update besides the US, but stay tuned.

Android Nougat includes split screen mode, improved multitasking, Doze on the Go, 72 new emoji, Direct Reply for messages, Data Saver, Direct Boot, and more. Learn more here.
