Amazon has updated their Fire HD 10 tablet with a new finish. Rather the cheap plastic feel of the previous model, the company’s updated 10.1-inch HD tablet includes a silver aluminum finish to make the device feel more premium. For some reason, Amazon decided to keep the plastic model around in both black and white, however I’m sure most people will steer toward the aluminum model especially since the updated device doesn’t cost anything extra at $229.99.
In addition, Amazon is also now selling the Fire HD 10 in a 64GB storage configuration, making the price of the device with special offers $289.99. For the best experience with no special offers, 64GB of space, and the aluminum finish, you’ll be paying $304.99, and if you’re tempted to max out your Fire tablet like that, I’m gonna have to move you away from that and recommend something more capable as the Fire tablet is solely for media consumption, some light gaming, and… not much else.
Everything else about the Fire HD 10, including the 10.1-inch 1280×800 HD display, quad-core 1.5GHz processor, 5MP camera, and 8 hour battery remain the same and untouched. So if you’ve been holding out for a more premium feeling Fire, today’s your lucky day. If you’re looking for a more powerful Fire…well..look away.
