Amazon Books is Amazon’s brick-and-mortar bookstore chain that’s been popping up in Seattle, Portland, and San Diego over the last year or so. It’s been known that the company plans on opening other locations in Massachusetts, Chicago, and New Jersey at some point in the future, but most of the buzz has surrounded the rumors suggesting the online retailer would open a store in New York City. Now, The Wall Street Journal has confirmed that Amazon will open a location in the Shops at Columbus Circle mall in Time Warner Center in NYC at some point during 2017. This news is aided by a new “Coming Soon” listing spotted on the Amazon Books webpage.
It’s unclear exactly when the store will open, but when it does, expect a similar experience and content availability as the other Books in Seattle, Portland, and San Diego. For instance, there’s gonna be a ton of books available for purchase, while special discounts for Prime members will also be offered. In addition, Kindle devices will also be available for purchase.
We’ll let you know when the NYC location opens alongside all the other upcoming stores.
