Apple and Amazon have agreed to terms which will see the trillion-dollar retailer sell the trillion-dollar iPhone maker’s newest products on its website. Up until this point, only third-party retailers have been able to sell iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches, while MacBooks and Beats headphones were already available directly from the retailer. But now, Amazon will be able to sell even more gadgets to consumers at, likely, the same prices as Apple would normally charge.
According to a report out of CNET which broke the news, Amazon will now be allowed to sell Apple’s latest devices such as the iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, Apple Watch Series 4, and iPad Pro. More Beats will also be added to Amazon’s roster. All of these products will roll out to Amazon’s listing pages over the coming weeks in the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, and India.
An Amazon spokesperson had the following to say to CNET.
“Amazon is constantly working to enhance the customer experience, and one of the ways we do this is by increasing selection of the products we know customers want,” an Amazon spokesperson said Friday in a statement. “We look forward to expanding our assortment of Apple and Beats products globally.”
Meanwhile, Apple is keeping hush on the situation.
This move is beneficiary in one particular way: Amazon enthusiasts. Those who buy virtually everything around them on Amazon will appreciate this change since they won’t have to navigate away from the store they’re used to shopping from. It’ll also come in handy when folks are shopping online for holiday gifts for loved ones who may be in need of a new iPhone or iPad. Having the convenience to buy either device right then and there and add it to the same cart as all your other stuff will prove to be convenient for many folks.
