Amazon Can Now Deliver Packages to Your Garage

Amazon today announced Prime customers can now have their packages delivered to their home’s garage. The company today is launching Key for Garage which utilizes Chamberlain Groups’ myQ technology to allow delivery personnel to drop off packages inside your garage opposed to, say, your front porch.

To enable the feature, you’ll first have to purchase a myQ Smart Garage Hub or LiftMaster Wi-Fi garage opener. Once installed, connect either device to your Amazon Prime account and you’ll be ready to go. At checkout, you’ll now have the option for “In-Garage delivery” which will ensure your packages are stored more securely. Of course, this all depends on whether you trust delivery people enough to access your garage while you aren’t home, but you’ll probably feel safer about this than strangers opening your front door.

If you want to add garage delivery to your Prime account, Amazon is discounting the price of the myQ Smart Garage Hub to $49.99. It’s also discounting the garage hub and Amazon Cloud Cam bundle to $124.99.

Amazon Key for Garage is available in 50 U.S. cities so far, with more to be announced in the future. You can learn more about the service here.
