Report: Apple Has a Secret Car Lab in Germany

A new report by German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) citing “informed sources” claims that Apple has a secret lab in Germany where testing of various methods and ideas to bring a possible vehicle to life is done by folks from all walks of the auto industry, from sales to engineering. This comes two months after Apple was said to be testing a possible car dubbed “Project Titan” using a shell company called Sixty Eight Research based in Sunnyvale, CA to keep it under wraps, which ultimately didn’t happen since locals around that area complained about the noise being caused. It’s very possible the company has two work places, however the distance between them seems odd, but since they wanna keep their project “secret”, I guess it makes sense.

There’s still no actual proof that Apple is developing a car, however by now I think their vehicle is basically the worst kept secret in the tech industry right now. Let’s face it. We know they’re up to something, we just don’t know what yet. The head of Apple, CEO Tim Cook, was recently interviewed and asked about whether they are making a car or not, and he responded saying, “Do you remember when you were a kid, and Christmas Eve… it was so exciting. You weren’t sure what was going to be downstairs. Well, it’s going to be Christmas Eve for a while.” Obviously, if Apple weren’t working on a car, wouldn’t they just come out and say, “Hey! We’re not building a car!”? Seriously? It’s like Apple keeps telling us they are, but we’re not allowed to tell anyone. That’s just my opinion, anyway.

What do you think? Is Apple building a car and has a testing facility in Germany? Let us know your opinion in the comments below!
