Renders of Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Leak… And They Remind Me of the iPhone

VentureBeat has leaked new “official” renders of what appears to be Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. And they remind me a lot of the iPhone 6.

Now look, I know what’s gonna happen. All of the Android fanboys are gonna fire back at me saying how this is Samsung’s own design and stuff, but don’t you remember the bottom of the SGS6? Here’s a pick if you don’t remember:

You can clearly see, whether your a Fandroid or not, that each phone looks similar to the other. And if it doesn’t look similar, it’s a stricking resemblance.

I’m just saying if you compare the front of the iPhone 6 to the new render of the Galaxy S7, you can tell there’s some resemblance.

I know this isn’t to scale, but I jsut wanted to give you and idea of what I’m thinking.

If you look at the picture above, you’ll notice a some similarities between the two designs, like how the glass curves over the side of each phone a little bit to give a nice smooth feeling, and how the foreheads and chins of each are scaled to the size of the screens. It’s the little things you notice when you constantly look at pictures of phones. However, not everyone will agree, so I’m not gonna make this post all about why I think the GS7 is gonna basically be an Android-powered and Samsung-“designed” iPhone.

The Galaxy S7 is rumored to have a 5.2 inch display, which is probably the sweet spot for a lot of people when it comes to the size of their phones. On the other hand, the GS7 Edge is reportedly gonna have a 5.5 inch screen, which would explain the size difference.

And that’s pretty much the only differences between the two (excluding the “edges” on the GS7 Edge, obviously). Otherwise, the button placement is the same, the IO looks the be untouched, and the color looks to be matching. So honestly, there’s not too much new in these new renders, however they are probably gonna look pretty similar to the finished product Samsung shows off next month.

Spec-wise, we expect the S7 to have a hefty 4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of storage. The processor will vary depending on region with North America getting a Snapdragon 820 and international variants using a Exynos 8 Octa 8890 processor. The S7 will have a 3000mAh battery charged via USB Type-C, while the larger S7 Edge likely has a 3600mAh battery.
