People care about battery life on their smartphones. If they have to charge their phone overnight, unplug it at 100% at 8:00AM, then have to plug it back in at 4:00PM, they’re disappointed. Big time. But if they can make it into the second day on a single full charge, they’re ecstatic! This type of reaction usually requires a phone with a 3,000mAh battery or greater installed. And people don’t mind that. People don’t mind spending $500 – $900 for a phone with a 3,000mAh battery installed that they know will get them through two days of mixed use on a single charge. But what if you didn’t have to spend almost $1,000 dollars on a smartphone with a big battery? What if you only had to spend $239? Wishful thinking, right? Well, not any more. This thinking has turned into reality.
There’s a Chinese manufacturer out there called Oukitel who makes decent Android smartphones, but their latest device they cooked up is off the charts (well, at least battery wise). The Oukitel K10000 features a humongous 10,000mAh battery installed!
Yep, it’s true Ron Burgundy! A 10,000mAh battery!
Oukitel claims that since the battery is so big, you can get around 15 days worth of battery life after a full charge. Now, this is kind of stretching the truth a little. Maybe if it was running a custom OS, but it’s not. It’s running Android 5.1 with a big ol’ skin on the top. So from our experience, we estimate that this phone will last somewhere from 4-7 days, depending on how you use it. Oukitel advertises that this phone features Quick Charge technology, but it’s not like it’s gonna be a short time before your phone is fully charged. Remember, this is a 10,000mAh battery. Oukitel says that it’ll take about 3.5 hours to charge from 0 – 100% while using Quick Charge, but even if you charge your phone up to 20% or something you’re still gonna get around a day’s worth of battery. And fun fact: you can charge up to 3 iPhone 6s Plus units from 0 – 100% and still have about 10% battery left by using their reverse charging technology. That’s pretty cool, right?
And the rest of the phone? It’s not all that fantastic: the screen is only 720p and measures in a 5.5 inches, it has an MTK6735 64 bit Quad Core 1.0GHz processor, 2GB of RAM (which is totally unnecessary with a processor at that speed, but whatever), 16GB of storage (which is expandable up to 32GB), a 13MP camera with HDR, panorama and an anti-shake feature, along with a 5MP camera to take selfies. But honestly, the reason you’re buying this phone is for the battery life and the price, not the screen, the processor, the memory, the storage, or the cameras.

It’s worth noting that its network support is a little limited. Its product page lists support for 800/1800/2100/2600 MHz 4G LTE bands and 1900/2100MHz WCDMA 3G bands. Before you order expecting super-fast cellular speeds, be sure to check with your carrier which network bands need support.
