Best Buy to Become 1st 3rd Party Reseller of Apple Watch Beginning August 7

Yesterday in a press release, Best Buy announced that they will become the 1st national reseller, besides Apple, to sell the Apple Watch inter physical and online stores. Best Buy says the Watch will hit more then 100 stores on August 7 and will be avail be for purchase online as of that date as well. Best Buy will add on another 200 locations where the Watch will be avail be by the time holiday shopping comes around.

Best Buy also said they will sell 16 variants of Apple Watches each being either Sport or Watch models. The company said they won’t be selling the Edition.

They also stated they’ll be selling “nearly 50 different accessories” for the Watch including watch bands, screen protectors, charging cables, and stands. The type of band Best Buy will be selling hasn’t been revealed, leaving the question whether they’ll sell Apple-made Watch bands or sell 3rd party manufacturers bands.

“The Apple Watch is an important addition to an emerging product category, and we know our customers want it,” said Jason Bonfig, senior category officer at Best Buy. “We are excited to bring Apple Watch to more consumers, especially with the holidays coming up.”

Best Buy said they’ll be updating their website within the next few days with more information regarding the Apple Watch and where it will become available for purchase on August 7.
