Royalty May Be Coming to Star Wars: Episode VIII

Recently, Prince Harry and William were both invited to receive a tour of the Star Wars: Episode VIII set where they both got to have lightsaber battles and receive plenty of hugs from Chewie. However, according to a new report, their little visit may have been more than that.

In the said report, it’s said that both Princes were asked to shoot a cameo for the film as Stormtroopers:

“The line given was that they were going to have lunch and a private tour of the rest of the set,” a source told the Daily Mail (via News.com.au) “What really happened is that the director came over and told them it was time to ‘get suited’ and off they went to the wardrobe department.”

This scene in question reportedly includes a side-by-side with the Prices, Rey, Finn, and Benicio del Toro’s mystery villain character:

“The Princes dressed up in full Stormtrooper gear and filmed a scene in which Rey and Finn infiltrate a secret base. The rebel characters are in a lift with Benicia del Toro’s character when a group of Stormtroopers enter – two of whom are William and Harry.”

This all could be completely false and never be proven otherwise, however it isn’t unlikely the studio was able to get two major celebrities to play Stormtroopers. In the past, Kevin Smith, Radiohead’s Nigel Goodrich, and Daniel Craig were all Stormtroopers, so why not get two Princes from England to play two of the biggest roles in an American sci-fi franchise’s eighth installment? It makes sense to me. How about you?

Star Wars: Episode VIII is set to debut in theaters December 15th, 2017.
