Jide has unveiled to the world three new devices which are all running the company’s latest OS Remix OS 3.0 This version of the popular Android-PC-like operating system is based on Android Marshmallow and includes many bug and stability fixes to make the experience better.
First up is the Remix Pro, the sequel to JIDE’s 2015 11.6-inch Remix Ultratablet running their OS. The 2-in-1 Pro features a 12-inch 2160×1440 IPS display, an octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor paired with an Adreno 510 GPU and 3GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage via microSD card up to an extra 256GB, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP camera, and a 9,000mAh battery. To charge, the Pro uses a pogo-pin connector which supports quick charging technology. There’s also 802.11ac Wi-Fi support alongside Bluetooth version 4.0. All of this is packed inside a Surface-like body which measures 0.27-inch thick and weighs 1.4 pounds paired with a keyboard cover with a trackpad for interaction.
Next up is the upgraded AOC Mars all-in-one PC. This new model doesn’t upgrade the same quad-core ARM processor or 2GB of RAM, however allows buyers to pick one up in 22, 24, or 32-inch screen sizes.
Finally, Jide has also announced a second generation Remix OS PC box which includes an octa-core Rockchip 3368 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 1 or 2GB of RAM, 8 or 16GB of storage expandable via microSD card, 2 USB-A ports, an ethernet jack, an HDMI port, Bluetooth 4.0, and 802.11 b/g/n 2.4G Wi-Fi. This PC box is aimed at OEMs who want to make devices running Remix OS, and in my eyes, this is a great start.
We’re still waiting for some more information on these new devices, so sit tight. However, we do know that all these new gadgets are available in China now with an international rollout to happen some time in the future.
