Lenovo Introduces Affordable IdeaPad C340 Laptop Line

Starting at $449 and available with both Intel and AMD processors.

Today to kick off MWC 2019 over in Barcelona, Lenovo unveiled a new lineup of laptops under the name IdeaPad C340. The machines come in a variety of configurations and offer affordable price points.

With each model, you get an aluminum design that doubles as a convertible. This means you can use the laptop in laptop mode, tent mode, tablet mode, and stand mode thanks to the 2-in-1 display hinge. Speaking of which, the display is available in both 14-inch and 15-inch sizes with up to a 1920×1080 Full HD resolution. A cheaper 1366×768 resolution is also available.

Under the hood, Lenovo offers either an Intel or AMD processor. More specifically, you can get up to an 8th-generation Intel Core i7 or an AMD Ryzen 7. You can also configure the laptop with either GeForce MX230 or AMD Radeon RX Vega graphics. Intel models also get up to 16GB of RAM, whereas AMD models get up to 8GB.

The two configurations also differ when it comes to storage. Whereas Intel models of the IdeaPad C340 can get an SSD/HDD combo with 512GB/1TB of storage, the AMD side of things gets up to 512GB of pure SSD storage. However, the two variants do have some things in common such as up to eight hours of battery life, Dolby Audio, two USB-A ports, one USB-C port, a headphone jack, an HDMI port, an SD card reader, and a 720p webcam with a privacy shutter.

In addition, an optional fingerprint reader, backlit keyboard, and Active Pen support are also available.

According to Lenovo, the IdeaPad C340 will start at $449.99 and launch in April in the U.S. Some countries will get the machines a bit earlier in March.
