Google has begun rolling out an update to its Gboard keyboard app on iOS which adds the option to toggle on or off haptic feedback. Much like its Android counterpart, Gboard can now respond to key presses with a slight vibration. I’ve been using the feature all day and, I have to say, it’s the best haptic feedback I’ve ever felt, largely in part to Apple’s excellent vibration motor in the iPhone.
According to users who have gotten the update, the feature works on iPhones dating back to 2016. In other words, those with an iPhone 7 or later will get the feature. You can install the latest version of Gboard from the App Store here.
