Nokia 9 PureView Leaks Out in New Promo Video w/ Five Rear Cameras

We’ve seen phones with five cameras in the past thanks to LG, but no one has put five cameras directly on the back of a device… yet. According to leaks from both MySmartPrice and Evan Blass, it looks like Nokia might be first to do so.

In the leaks, the Nokia 9 PureView makes an appearance with an uncommon five-camera array strapped to the back. In the promo video, Nokia touts better low-light performance and dog tricks like taking a photo with all five sensors at once as perks for having all of these cameras, but there’s no clear advantage to having all of the sensors in the first place other than different focal lengths.

The rest of the Nokia 9 PureView sounds pretty good. It’ll reportedly come with a 5.99-inch HDR10-equipped “PureDisplay” with a Snapdragon 845 (no 855 here, folks) and 6GB of RAM. It’ll also ship with 128GB of storage, according to today’s report. And at least according to the leaked images, we may also be looking at a glass design with a metal rail, much like other Android phones, along with a clean build of Android thanks to the device being a part of the Android One program.

Rumor has it the device will land this January, possibly at CES 2019. However, it could also be pushed back to February during MWC 2019. Of course, if any developments occur, we’ll let you know.
