9to5Mac has published a report which includes a new image of what they claim is the upcoming Apple battery case for the iPhone XS. The image depicts the case from the back which shows a large hump where the battery is stored alongside a vertical cutout for the phone’s dual camera array.
An icon discovered in the latest version of watchOS also gives us a glimpse at the case, this time from the front.

According to 9to5Mac, the battery case will come in three different models, seemingly confirming it’ll work with the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR. This will be the first time Apple has designed a battery case for both its larger smartphones and its redesigned models as last year’s iPhone X didn’t get the accessory. We haven’t seen a battery case from Apple since the time of the iPhone 7 so to see a new one hit the market is interesting.
Currently, there’s no word on when the battery case for Apple’s newest iPhones will land, but 9to5Mac notes it could possibly come out by the end of year, considering both the previous battery case and AirPods have had December releases. We’ll keep you posted if anything comes of these rumors.
