OnePlus 6 Now Getting Upgraded to Android 9 Pie

Following a short beta process that was introduced earlier this month, OnePlus has begun rolling out Android 9 Pie to owners of the OnePlus 6. The update comes in the form of OxygenOS 9.0 which includes the company’s own customizations on top of a nearly stock build of Android. Head over to the Software Update section of your settings app to see if you’ve received the upgrade yet.

OnePlus includes the following changelog with the Pie upgrade for the OnePlus 6.


  • Updated system to Android™ 9.0 Pie™
    • Brand new UI for Android Pie
    • New adaptive battery support
    • New Android Pie gesture navigation
    • Updated Android security patch to 2018.9
    • Other new features and system improvements
  • Do Not Disturb mode
    • New Do Not Disturb (DND) mode with adjustable settings
  • New Gaming mode 3.0
    • Added text notification mode
    • Added notification for 3rd party calls
  • Accent color
    • Supported accent color customization

In addition, OnePlus has also stated these features will make their way to older devices such as the OnePlus 5, 5T, 3, and 3T. It isn’t known when these updates will be shipped out, but we’ll let you know when they are.

Most OnePlus 6 owners should start seeing the upgrade to Pie today.
