Samsung has revealed a new smart speaker that’s been rumored to quite some time now. The new Galaxy Home is a speaker powered by the company’s AI assistant and rivals the likings of Amazon, Google, and Apple in the smart home space.
As far as looks go, this tweet pretty much sums it up.

If Samsung was going for a unique look, they definitely nailed it with the Galaxy Home.
As for specs, the Galaxy Home features an array of six speakers within a fabric-covered body that aims to provide high-quality surround sound. The speaker includes eight far-field microphones for “Hi, Bixby” detection. It also comes with Bixby 2.0 which Samsung says is more personal, helpful, and powerful.
Admittedly, Samsung is joining the party pretty late. Amazon has had its Echo on the makret for years now, and so has Google. Apple even showed up late, but at least they did so six months ago and not now. Therefore, it’ll be interesting to see just how many people actually adopt Samsung’s solution to a smart home speaker when there are other, more established alternatives.
We don’t have a price or release date for the Galaxy Home just yet, but stay tuned.
