Microsoft’s Surface Go Gets a 4GB RAM/128GB Storage Variant at Costco for $549
Earlier this month, Microsoft unveiled the Surface Go as a cheaper alternative to the company’s other Surface-branded hardware. Priced from $399, the device aims to provide a good-enough experience for the money and, hopefully, become a hit in places like schools.
When the company originally announced the device, it unveiled two different variants: one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage and another with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage. Now, according to a listing on Costco’s website (found first by Neowin), it looks like there’s a third variant that blends the two original models.
According to the listing, the Surface Go is also available with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage. For $549, the model ships with an included Surface Type Cover which normally costs $99. If you think about it, the tablet alone would likely cost $449 which sounds about like what Microsoft would charge if they sold this device themselves.
Exclusive to Costco members, the special version of the Surface Go will launch on August 2nd. It’s unclear if the variant will remain exclusive to Costco members or if other retailers will soon sell it as well. Of course, we’ll let you know when we know more.
