Netflix is Rolling Out a Redesigned Inteface for Your TV
If you decide to open Netflix on your television today, you may be in for a little surprise. According to a blog post, the company is beginning to roll out a new user interface that makes using the service easier than before. The company says the new UI is based on “rigorous research” regarding how Netflix can make it easier to find titles on TVs, “where navigation can feel a bit tougher when you are restricted to just a few buttons on a remote control.”
At Netflix, we are constantly asking ourselves what can we do to make it even easier for our members to spend less time browsing and more time discovering stories they will love. We realize that there so many great stories on the service, and that sometimes our members need a little bit of help figuring out where to start.
That is why we are incredibly excited to unveil a new design for our TV experience that will begin rolling out to members all over the world today. The new interface was based on rigorous research and testing around how we can make it easier to find titles on TVs, where navigation can feel a bit tougher when you are restricted to just a few buttons on a remote control.
According to the company, the new Netflix interface on your TV is easier to search and view new content. You’ll also have an easier time sifting through different titles using your remote. The company also touts an improved experience when viewing saved titles you’ve added to My List. On top of all of this, there’s a new design language that looks clean and modern.
Netflix says it’ll continuously learn from its users how they like to browse the platform and optimize their UI accordingly. Today’s new design will roll out to all users over the next few weeks with even more updates arriving in the months to come.
