Samsung has announced a 2018 version of The Frame, a TV the company announced last year that includes a picture frame-like body and displays artwork when the device isn’t in use. For this year, Samsung is announcing a few additions that make it more up to speed with the company’s QLED TV line.
For starters, The Frame now comes with a 4K UHD display with HDR10+. This means you can expect better colors, contrasts, and inkier blacks from your content. There are also multiple smart capabilities now on board including Effortless Log-in for logging into accounts quicker and easier, Samsung’s proprietary Smart Hub menu, and Bixby for accessing different aspects of your television with your voice. You can also control things like your smart lights, soundbar, cameras, door locks, and more with Bixby and Samsung’s SmartThings platform.
Samsung is also announcing the Samsung Art Store is becoming more expansive, with the collection now offering more than 30 new pieces of photography from The New York Times. Users can purchase different artwork from the store or subscribe for $4.99/month and gain access to various pieces.
According to the company, The Frame 2018 will start at $1,999 for a 55-inch screen and go up to $2,799 for a 65-inch screen. Both are available starting today from Samsung.com and select retails.
