The Oppo Find X Packs Flagship Specs and Motorized Cameras

Oppo has unveiled its latest high-end smartphone called the Find X. The device packs all the specifications you’d expect in a 2018 flagship and opts for a design that’s super futuristic and pretty interesting.

On the front, there’s a 6.4-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio that stretches from edge to edge with extremely small bezels and chin. There’s also no notch which isn’t common amongst most bezel-less Android phones. That’s because Oppo has included a motorized component on the back of the Find X that springs to life when you open the camera app, similar to Vivo’s Nex phone.

Within this module sits dual 16MP and 20MP cameras on the back and a main 25MP selfie shooter on the front. Oppo also includes a 3D camera system within the slider that aids in achieving a better beauty mode for selfies and face unlocking system. In fact, that latter feature is the only way you can unlock the phone beside the normal pin or password. there isn’t a fingerprint sensor to be found anywhere on this device, so you’ll have to rely on the face unlock feature if you don’t feel like punching anything in on your lock screen.

Other than this area, the rest of the phone is pretty ordinary. Under the hood sits a Snapdragon 845 processor with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The Find X sports Android Oreo with Oppo’s heavy skin on top. A 3730mAh battery sits inside to power the entire experience. There’s also Oppo’s VOOC fast charging, a USB-C port, and no headphone jack.

Oppo says it’ll be launching the Find X not only in its typical markets like China but also in North America. That’s why the company included the necessary band support for LTE connectivity over all four major US carriers. We don’t know how much it’ll cost, but it is going up for preorder today in China. We also expect to hear more about the phone’s North American and the potential for a US carrier partner in the near future.
