Apple today released the third iOS 11.4.1 beta for debugging on the iPhone and iPad before an initial public release in the near future. This comes a week after the second build surfaced.
To install the build on your registered device, head over to Settings > General > Software Update. Tap “Download and install” next to the iOS 11.4.1 listing and you’ll be good to go. I recommend jumping on a Wi-Fi network and plugging in your device beforehand you don’t get any data overage charges on your bill and your device doesn’t die during the installation process.
While iOS 11.4.1 will bring simple bug fixes and stability improvements, iOS 11.4 brings a suite of new features. It packs AirPlay 2 compatibility that lets users add multiple AirPlay 2-equipped speakers to the iOS Home app for multi-room playback. There’s also Messages in the Cloud compatibility to iPhone and iPad users. The feature lets you store all of your text messages based in the Messages app in iCloud for viewing across your devices.
We’ll let you know of any new features we spot in the new build.
