LG G6 Now Getting Android 8.0 Oreo Update on Verizon

Users of LG’s G6 are in for a treat today. If you’re the owner of the device and have service through Verizon, you can expect an upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo as the software has begun to roll out (via Droid-Life). The update weighs in at around 1.89GB so you’ll want to make sure you plug your phone in and flick on Wi-Fi before installing to avoid any interruptions.

In Android Oreo for the G6, users can expect all the normal Oreo stuff like picture-in-picture, improved notifications settings, better speed, and longer battery life. You also get some LG goodies like improvements to the default launcher and some updates to LG-branded apps. Overall, it’s an update that’s definitely worth installing.

Most users of the Verizon G6 can expect Oreo to hit their devices in the coming days.
