Microsoft is Bringing Windows Timeline to its Android Launcher
During its Build 2018 developers conference in Seattle, Microsoft announced it will be bringing Timeline to its Android home screen replacement, Microsoft Launcher (via Neowin). If you recall, the feature allows users to go back and revisit work they’ve done on their Windows 10 PCs via the multitasking screen. The feature originally debuted in the April 2018 Update for Windows 10 and will soon make its way to Android users as well.
It’s unclear what you’ll be able to do with the feature, but if it’s anything like how it is on desktop, we can assume you’ll be able to access things like web pages and documents you recently had open on your PC on your Android smartphone. They’ll likely appear in a sort of chronological order, or timeline, somewhere on your home screen. We’ll likely learn more about the feature tomorrow when the company covers Microsoft 365.
In other news, Timeline has made its way to the Microsoft Edge browser on iOS after being in beta. The feature allows users to access recently opened web pages in Edge on their iPhone and iPad. The same functionality should be coming to Android soon.
