Apple today began rolling out an update to its TV app available on iOS and tvOS that enables live news streaming. The feature is similar to the Sports section launched last year in which you can sift through a selection of news outlets to watch such as CNN, CNBC, Fox News, Cheddar, and Bloomberg.
To get the feature to work, you’ll need the accompanying apps for the news providers listed. You’ll, of course, be able to sign in using Apple’s Single Sign-On technology. Afterward, live news feeds should appear in a dedicated News section in the TV app on both tvOS and iOS. You’ll even be able to control the content with your voice using Siri on the Apple TV by saying things like “Play Fox News.”
According to 9to5Mac who first noted the feature was live, you’ll need iOS 11.2.5 and tvOS 11.2.5 for it to pop up on your device. Be sure to grab those updates before frantically navigating around your TV app.
