Samsung Unveils Special Galaxy Note 8 for Winter Olympic Athletes

Samsung has unveiled a special version of its Galaxy Note 8 smartphone that includes a unique PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games design. There’s a white back with Olympic rings and the Samsung logo both pained in gold, while the S Pen also adopts the same two colors. Nothing’s really new on the front, although the device does come with some exclusive Olympic-themed wallpapers.

According to Samsung, they’ll be producing over 4,000 of these to hand out to staff members and athletes at the Windows Olympics this year. However, unlike previous Olympic releases, it won’t go up for sale to consumers. Additionally, those in the Paralympics will also receive a phone alongside a special case with the Paralympics logo.

The Galaxy Note 8 packs a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED Infinity Display, a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, dual rear cameras, Android 7.1.1 Nougat, an S Pen, a 3300mAh battery, a headphone jack(!), a USB-C port, and AKG earphones in its box.
