LG today unveiled its new ThinQ smart speaker ahead of CES 2018 where the device will be on display. While we don’t know much about the speaker, we do know it’ll be powered by the Google Assistant for voice interactions. LG says it worked with Google to ensure all available commands for an Assistant smart home speaker were available on the ThinQ on top of commands to control LG’s own smart home appliances.
In a press release, LG also mentions its new lineup of high-end speakers for 2018 which it partnered with Meridian Audio to deliver. There’s a new soundbar with Chromecast Audio built in and a Bluetooth speaker capable of streaming 24-bit music over a wireless connection. Not much information about these new speakers such as release dates and price tags were spoken of today, but expect more info to surface next month during CES.
