Google is delaying the release of YouTube TV for Apple TV and Roku until early 2018, according to a report out of CNET. An exact reason for the delay wasn’t given, but in the end it means those of you who use these platforms to stream media will need to wait until Q1 2018.
Don’t expect Google to drop plans for these platforms anytime soon
A representative at YouTube told CNET that the company plans to also release apps for older Samsung and Sony TVs but didn’t comment on the whole Apple TV and Roku debacle. Google has released YouTube TV for Android TV, Samsung and LG smart TVs, Xbox One, and Chromecast in the past, so don’t expect the company to drop plans for these platforms anytime soon.
That being said, it’s a shame users will need to wait even longer. We’ll let you know when the wait is over.
