Amazon has added Spotify to the list of music services supported by its multi-room playback feature with the Echo. This comes after the feature had initially become available in August with the likes of iHeartRadio, Pandora, TuneIn Radio, and Amazon Music Unlimited on board. SiriusXM is also joining the lineup as of today.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Echo-linking feature to blast your jams throughout your home, it works like this: if you have three Echos upstairs and would like to play music from all of them at the same time, you can put them under a group called “upstairs” in the Amazon Echo app and say, “Alexa, play my music upstairs.” This will stream whatever tunes you’re craving via all three of your Echos upstairs. This works with the standard Echo, Echo Dot, and Echo Show. And now, the music can come from Spotify or SiriusXM.
At least for now, the feature is only available in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, and Germany, but expect it to land in other locations in the near future.
