Apple’s iMac Pro to Arrive in ‘A Matter of Days’ [Update: Launch Set for 12/14]

Update: Apple has begun alerting customers that the iMac Pro will go on sale on December 14. It starts at $4,999.

Original article: Earlier this year, Apple had originally planned to release two products in December 2017, the HomePod and iMac Pro. The HomePod was recently announced to be delayed into 2018, but not a word has been spoken surrounding the iMac. According to a new interview with Phil Schiller, however, it appears the high-end computer will launch in “a matter of days.”

The interview, conducted by T3, was brought to light by 9to5Mac who pulled the following quote surrounding when we can expect the iMac Pro to launch.

We’re getting close to when it’s out there. It’s very soon. A matter of days now.

Whether this means it’ll launch this week or next, at least we’re getting close. We haven’t heard anything further since June when it was originally unveiled. In case you missed it, the iMac Pro packs a 27-inch 5K display, Intel Xeon processors, up to 128GB of VRAM, four USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports, Radeon Vega graphics, up to 1TB of 3Gbps SSD storage, and even a 10Gbps Ethernet jack because God knows you’ll need it. Apple calls the iMac Pro the “most powerful Mac ever.”

We’re also expecting the iMac Pro to support “Hey Siri” functionality. Developers last month leaked the details in various tweets and said the computer features an A10 Fusion chipset specifically dedicated to “Hey Siri” operations. We have yet to hear formal confirmation of the feature from Apple themselves, but expect it nevertheless.

We’ll let you know if we hear anything further on the subject.
