Apple Releases tvOS 11.2 with New and Improved HDR Capabilities

After releasing iOS 11.2 for everyone over the weekend, Apple today began the rollout of tvOS 11.2 to all fourth- and fifth-generation Apple TV owners. To install the update on your TV, head over to Settings > System > Software Updates > Update Software and hit the download button.

In tvOS 11.2, Apple lets users fine-tune how video is played on their TVs with new controls for HDR and frame rates. This should aid your viewing experience while watching content on your television. For instance, you have the ability to play back movies and shows at their original frame rates and HDR standards instead of trying to adapt to Apple’s own set standard.

Other than this, there isn’t much else new, but we’ll, of course, let you know of any important changes spotted along the way.
