T-Mobile today introduced a sequel to its Revvl smartphone which was originally unveiled back in August. The Revvl, if you recall, is the carrier’s first built-in-house smartphone, and now it has a successor. Called the Revvl Plus, this handset looks to provide more power for those still on a budget for a slightly higher price tag.
Specifically, the new Revvl Plus features a 6-inch Full HD display over the standard Revvl’s 5.5-inch screen. The same 2GB of RAM is on board and 32GB of storage, but the processor is seeing a bump to 2 GHz over 1.5 GHz in the previous handset. Additionally, the Uncarrier has added dual rear cameras with a 13MP and 5MP sensor combo which will presumably work for capturing natural bokeh shots. Additionally, the phone ships with Android Nougat, a fingerprint scanner, and a new color scheme with black and magenta accents.
What’s likely the highlight of the Revvl Plus is the bigger battery which is now rated at 3,380mAh over the standard Revvl’s 3,000mAh cell. Of course, both phones shouldn’t knock your socks off in terms of usage, but the Plus should no doubt last longer than its predecessor.
“We launched the REVVL family because we listen to our customers,” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile. “As smartphone prices soar, the REVVL Plus bucks the trend, delivering high-end features – like bigger screens, better cameras, longer battery life, biometric security and more – at an unbeatable price.”
T-Mobile says the Revvl Plus will launch on November 17th for $9/month for 18 months on the carrier’s Jump! on Demand plan. You can also purchase it for $8 down and $8/month for 24 months. In the end, you’ll be spending $200 which is about $50 more than the standard Revvl.
