Apple Updates Clips with New TrueDepth ‘Selfie Scenes’ for iPhone X

Apple today updated its Clips application which is used to make short videos or edit photos for sharing across social media. In the update, under the version number 2.0, Apple includes a feature exclusive to the newly released iPhone X which utilizes the device’s front-facing TrueDepth camera system. It’s called Selfie Scenes and it’s pretty much the ultimate green screen for your smartphone.

With Clips, you can select Selfie Scenes and choose between 10 different Apple-designed themes, with two being straight scenes from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The filters give you a full 360-degree experience so you can move around and still be in your desired location. You even get sound effects based on your selected environment to better suit your clips.

As an added bonus, Apple is also including a fresh set of stickers and effects to add more pizzaz to your photos and videos. This includes “full-screen posters featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, as well as Star Wars stickers featuring animated versions of Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, and others.” There’s also loyalty-free music and 16 new Apple-designed stickers to compliment your content.
