Apple’s new iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and X all feature glass on the front and back. This is obviously for good reason: the front lets you actually touch the screen, while the back enables wireless charging. But it’s clear that either side can shatter just with a simple drop onto a hard surface. Therefore, if you’re looking for some protection for your new investment and want something more classy than the rest, Mujjo has some great offerings, specifically its new leather wallet case.
Designed for the iPhone 8, Mujjo’s new leather wallet case can fit either an 8 or iPhone 7 like we have here. While the shape and all the cutouts are on point, I have to stress this case fits really snug on the phone. It’s actually quite a struggle to yank it off, and you have to be careful not to pop off a button or the ringer switch. Thankfully, I didn’t during my testing, but it’s something to keep in mind.
The overall design of the case is elegant. Its cutouts expose each element of your iPhone you’ll need and covers up the buttons in a sturdy leather that, once worn in a bit, feels great. There’s even a slight lip surrounding the edges of your screen to protect it from face-down placements on a crummy table. It even works when there’s a screen protector on it which I’m very thankful for.
Mujjo uses fine-grain Japnese leather for its cases, and when using the case day by day, you notice just how high quality the material is. So far, I haven’t found any tears or other wear on my sample, but over time I’d imagine the case would age gracefully. There’s also a microfiber lining on the inside to protect your new iPhone from scratches which is much appreciated.
The sample Mujjo gave me includes a slot on the back where you can store your credit/debit card or some cash. I’ve found it convenient not to have to reach deep into my pocket to get an extra dollar out or find my Starbucks card as it’s simply sitting on the back of my phone. Therefore, if I had to pick between the standard and wallet cases, I’d choose the latter.
Overall, my experience with this case is nothing short of fantastic. Apple makes its own cases for the iPhone, but I’ve found Mujjo’s to be my preferred option. If you wanna pick one up, the leather wallet case is available in black or tan for $49.90. If you just want a standard leather case, it’ll run you $44.90. Additionally, the same cases are available for the iPhone X starting at $54.90.
