For around eleven minutes before the 7 PM ET hour struck yesterday, President Donald Trump’s Twitter account was deactivated for no apparent reason. Searching for The Donald by his handle @realDonaldTrump resulted in the following error page.
The incident quickly picked up steam across the web, and in response, Twitter brought the President back up online.
Earlier today @realdonaldtrump’s account was inadvertently deactivated due to human error by a Twitter employee. The account was down for 11 minutes, and has since been restored. We are continuing to investigate and are taking steps to prevent this from happening again.

Later, the social media platform performed an investigation into the incident and determined it was the result of human error by an employee on the employee’s last day.
Through our investigation we have learned that this was done by a Twitter customer support employee who did this on the employee’s last day. We are conducting a full internal review. https://t.co/mlarOgiaRF

Right now, more extensive details remain absent as to how the deactivation of Trump’s Twitter account was performed, but we’ll let you know if more information hits our news desk.
The President responded to the incident by saying “the word must be getting out – and having an impact.”
My Twitter account was taken down for 11 minutes by a rogue employee. I guess the word must finally be getting out-and having an impact.
