Samsung Galaxy S8 Owners Can Now Beta Test Android 8.0 Oreo

Samsung has announced it’s now letting anyone with a Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus to beta test the upcoming software update that will bring Android 8.0 Oreo to the devices. Those in the US, UK, and South Korea can jump on this opportunity by visiting the Samsung Members or Samsung+ app on their phone and opting to receive the beta OS.  Afterward, a software update should be delivered indicating Android Oreo is ready to be installed.

However, while a large number of users can get into the program, not every S8 owner will be eligible. For some reason, only users of unlocked, Sprint, and T-Mobile variants of the devices can install the build which is rather unfortunate. But if you fall into this category of users and have an active Samsung account, try registering for the beta and see what happens. We’ve reached out to Samsung to confirm when the beta will be introduced for Galaxy Note 8 owners who aren’t getting the beta as of yet.
