Apple’s New Leather Sleeve for the MacBook Costs $149

Amidst the iPhone X pre-order frenzy, Apple has dropped a new house-made leather sleeve for its 12-inch MacBook. The accessory arrives in Saddle Brown or Midnight Blue and is made of “high-quality European leather with a soft microfiber lining.” Apple even says the way its design allows for users to charge their laptop while it’s in its sleeve.

The only problem users will likely have with this is the price. Apple’s charging $149 for this sleeve, meanwhile third-party options at its store cost anywhere from $50 to $80. Therefore, whether this sleeve is worth it to you probably depends on whether you want an Apple logo on the sleeve itself. If not, maybe grab something else for cheaper.

Still, it’s probably worth it to some people who have $150 to spend. If you’re one of those people, you can grab the new leather sleeve for 12-inch MacBook here.
