Porsche today is introducing a new subscription service called Porsche Passport which enables anyone to pay a set fee each month to drive a selection of sports vehicles and SUVs at a moment’s notice. Users can select their car through a free iOS or Android app after registering for the service and paying a $500 activation fee and going through a credit check. This comes as more and more car manufacturers such as Cadillac are introducing similar subscription services for their products.
As for pricing, Porsche says the “Launch” tier will cost $2,000/month and will give you access to eight different models such as the 718 Boxster and Cayman S, as well as the Macan S and Cayenne. For $3,000/month, the “Accelerate” tier will give you access to twenty-two different models such as the Porsche 911 Carrera S, the Panamera 4S sports sedan, the Macan GTS, and Cayenne S E-Hybrid SUVs, in addition to the vehicles offered in the “Launch” package. You can also keep each vehicle for however long you wish and swap multiple times each month. Additionally, vehicle tax and registration, insurance, maintenance, and detailing are all included in either monthly fee so you don’t have any other costs to juggle.
If you’re already gushing over this new subscription service and wanna get it as soon as you can, you’re out of luck unless you live next to Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Alabama. For now, Porsche will be launching the service in Atlanta, GA and will expand the service as long as feedback is positive. If you live in that area, you can apply for a membership here.
